What a statement! “ He is either God or He’s not. Is there any middle ground? I don’t think so.” I am either held in the Everlasting Arms or I’m at the mercy of chance and I have to trust Him or deny Him. What looked like a contradiction in terms, I had to leave in God’s hands and say okay, Lord. And so, what looked like a contradiction in terms: God loves me God lets this awful thing happen to me. But my faith had to be founded on the character of God Himself. “ Now if I had had a faith that was determined God had to give me a particular kind of answer to my particular prayers, that faith would have disintegrated. When you walk through the fire, you will not be scorched, Nor will the flame burn you.” Isaiah 43:2 NASB “When you pass through the waters, I will be with you And through the rivers, they will not overflow you. “I will bless the Lord at all times His praise shall continually be in my mouth.” Is your world falling in on your head? I know how that feels, and how utterly helpless and hopeless it can feel to be in the midst of it. So, what is there to be grateful for in the midst of suffering? Well, God is still love. “Just start thanking God in advance because no matter what is about to happen, you already know that God is in charge. She refers to this verse from Psalms 34:1, “I will bless the Lord at all times His praise shall continually be in my mouth.” Then she says this: Even if you are in a good time of your life, it’s very insightful. If you are going through a period of suffering, it’s well worth your time to read. I’m reading a devotional by Elizabeth Elliot, called Suffering is Never for Nothing. I wonder a lot about why we have to suffer so much why people have to go through so many hardships.
